Department of Transport and Main Roads – Transport Network Reconstruction Program

Project Description

The Transport Network Reconstruction Program (TNRP) was established by the Department of Transport and Main Roads to manage the recovery and reconstruction of Queensland’s integrated transport system – including roads, rail and marine infrastructure following the damage caused during natural disasters in 2010 and 2011.

The TNRP subsequently managed the recovery and reconstruction following subsequent events to a value of $6.5 billion.

The TNRP coordinated delivery of the state-wide transport network program of works through the department’s regions in partnership with industry, local government and other government agencies.

TMR established a state-wide Program Office based in Brisbane to coordinate the TNRP. The TNRP Office strengthened program accountability, transparency and decision-making, and delivered consolidated reporting on TMR’s state-wide recovery and reconstruction program.
